For over a century, our history has been written primarily in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Four generations have succeeded one another with the same conviction: to understand each terroir, respect its identity, and allow time to reveal its full potential.
Like any century-old family history, ours has seen evolutions.
At the end of 2012, a family reflection led us to rethink our vineyard plots. This opened a new quest: to patiently rebuild a heritage that lives up to our standards.
We then undertook extensive research. We visited vineyards, explored different areas, hesitated, and took the time to observe. We could have acquired hectares quickly, but that's not how we approach our profession. We weren't just looking for vines.
"We were looking for terroirs capable of moving us, places with a true identity."
For years, nothing stood out. Then came the Lirac appellation, with the acquisition of vines in Saint-Laurent-des-Arbres and Saint-Geniès-de-Comolas. Each plot seemed to possess its own energy. Each place told a different story.
It was this diversity that convinced us. The result of successive affections, our vineyard plots have been built up over the years. Each vine was chosen with the same high standards that guide our work in Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
Today, our vineyard extends notably over the lieux-dits Mont-Cau, Les Cosses, Le Plan Sud, Gissac and Caveyrac, each expressing a different facet of the Lirac appellation.
As we have always done, we strive to translate the identity of a place, a vintage, and a plot with the greatest possible precision. We deeply believe that a great wine is born first and foremost from a great terroir, and that our role is simply to accompany it without ever distorting it.
Beyond the reconstruction of our heritage, this new vineyard has become a conviction: we are persuaded that this appellation possesses immense potential and that it deserves to regain all the recognition it is due among the great wines of the Rhône Valley.
It is this ambition that guides each of our choices today: to restore these terroirs to their former glory, reveal their uniqueness, and humbly write a new chapter in the Domaine's history.
