Sabon Family
Anchoring
In 1932, Séraphin Sabon and Marie Jausset founded
Le Clos du Mont-Olivet, in the heart of Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
From the outset, we have built our identity around respect for living things, family tradition, and a sensitive interpretation of the terroir.
With Joseph Sabon, this anchoring was strengthened: taking time, listening to the vines, and allowing each plot to express its character.
Accuracy
With Jean-Claude, Pierre and Bernard, we are entering a new stage in our history. The attention paid to the soils, old vines, and terroirs gives rise to a more precise vision of wine.
In 1989, we created the Cuvée du Papet, made from the oldest plots on the estate and reserved for great vintages.
It has become a signature of Clos du Mont-Olivet, embodying the depth and soul of the old terroirs of Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
The Transmission
Today, Thierry, David, and Céline continue this family story with the desire to preserve our vineyard, our heritage, and the identity of our wines.
With the arrival of the 5th generation, Solenne and Martin, we are opening a new chapter: evolving Le Clos du Mont-Olivet while remaining faithful to what has united us since 1932: the land, family, and the love of honest wine.
