Châteauneuf-du-pape

Cuvée du Papet - Red

Prix: 250,00 € Prix normal:

Red wine

This cuvée is the pinnacle of Clos du Mont-Olivet. First released in 1989, it is the estate’s flagship wine, crafted from century-old Grenache vines — some planted in 1901 — and complemented, depending on the vintage, by Mourvèdre and Syrah.

More than a wine, it is a bottle for life's defining moments. One opened to celebrate a milestone, honour an emotion, or gather loved ones around a table. A wine that reminds us that the greatest memories are often shared over a remarkable bottle.

75% Grenache | 10% Syrah | 9% Mourvèdre | 6% Cinsault, Counoise, Vaccarèse, Terret Noir, Picpoul Noir, Muscardin

Winemaking & aging

Tanks are gravity-filled with partial destemming (60%). The grape varieties ferment together in concrete tanks, fostering harmony from the moment of vatting. Maceration, lasting about 40 days, favors gentle extraction, serving elegance and freshness.

Aging

Starts in concrete tanks, then aging is distributed among:

  • 70% in foudres (large oak casks)
  • 10% in stainless steel tanks
  • 8% in demi-muids (large barrels)
  • 7% in amphorae
  • 5% in barrels

(Proportions adjusted according to the vintage)
